The authorities of the Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, have urged residents who are in need of government support to be part of the ongoing Social Protection Program and Cash Transfers.
This programme is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, in conjunction with the National Social Investment Programme Agency and the National Cash Transfer Office/Lagos State Transfer Office.
Imota LCDA gave the charge in a statement on Tuesday.
“The Imota Local Council Development Area advises residents who are in dire need of government support to register and be counted in the ongoing Federal Government Social Protection and Cash Transfers.

“Residents are therefore encouraged to register for the ongoing Lagos State Single Social Register (LSSR) and the National Single Social Register (NSSR) for poor and vulnerable households, which is the official database used to select beneficiaries,” the statement said.
To qualify for the cash transfer, the Imota LCDA authorities urged its residents to register with their CDAs.
“New registration and updating of National Identity Number (NIN) can be done at your respective Community Development Associations (CDAs). These CDAs will invite the Lagos State Operations Coordinating Unit (LASOCU), under the Ministry of Economic, Planning, and Budget into Imota LCDA.

“The LASOCU team will identify and register poor and vulnerable households for the social protection program and cash transfers, ensuring that government intervention reaches those who need it most.”
The official statement concludes on a positive note, “Together, we will build the Imota LCDA of our dreams.”
